Type II — Decorative
Clear, black, and custom colors. 5–25μm coating thickness. Ideal for enclosures, consumer products, and automotive trim.
Type III — Hard Coat
25–150μm thick coating with surface hardness up to 60 HRC. For high-wear mechanical and industrial parts.
Color & Masking
Dyeing after anodizing for vibrant UV-stable colors. Selective masking for threads, bores, and mating surfaces.

Type II vs Type III anodizing — which do I need?
Type II for appearance and moderate corrosion protection. Type III when wear resistance and hardness are critical — e.g. sliding surfaces and high-wear mechanical parts.
Will anodizing affect dimensions?
Yes — approximately 50% of coating thickness builds outward. Specify anodizing in your drawing and we account for growth in pre-machining dimensions.
Can you anodize threads?
Threads are typically masked before anodizing to preserve fit. Specify thread class and we coordinate masking accordingly.
